- REAM : In engineering terms, it has long been accepted that to ‘ream’ it means accurately enlarge an existing hole.For drilled holes,the tolerance is wider than for a reamed hole.Reaming is meant for closer tolerance holes,more like plus/minus .0005. You have to figure out what it is you need.
